Empty Nester Home

This client hired Oliver Construction to complete their third residential project together. Recent newlyweds, the empty nesters own homes in Florida, Texas and Pennsylvania. Deciding to downsize from a large 1-bedroom bachelor home, the couple looked in various neighborhoods to see if they were interested in any other communities. Given the location of the existing home in a development that is near their local golf course, as well as having a home owners association taking care of the grounds while they are away, the couple decided to purchase a smaller 2 bedroom home in the same community.

Xavier Builders was hired to turn an exterior atrium space into interior living space by adding it to the master bathroom. The master bathroom was redone including marble and granite floors, shower walls, counter tops, his and her sinks, lighting, custom millwork cabinets and accessories.

All rooms of the home were refurbished including the lower level of the home. The couple entertains frequently so adjoining the dining space with a bar/gathering space near the kitchen was essential for them. New custom kitchen and dining room cabinets and new stainless steel kitchen appliances were installed. New granite countertops and formed glass cabinet doors were selected to complete the kitchen.

New custom millwork throughout the house was created from the walk-in closet, to the library/den and master bedroom suite. The second floor of the garage was converted into a guest suite, complete witih master bedroom, bathroom, kitchenette, and millwork walk-in wardrobe closet.

Project Details

This design-build project included demolishing everything to the existing walls, all-custom millwork, doors, frames and fixtures, a multi-tiered ceiling, metallic automotive paint column covers, recessed base throughout, hardwood and granite floors, and curved walls — as part of the complete renovation process.
